Photography is one of those activities we can all have fun with and blog about, at home, in the garden, walking the streets, in the countryside, in a museum or gallery ….. the opportunities are endless. You can be a wizard or a novice with a camera or a smartphone, or a crafty manipulator with Photoshop, or Lightroom or Snapseed. It really doesn’t matter how you create your image because in the end it is a work of art, a creation, a memory, and possibly a source of inspiration to others. Blogging your images is easy too, few words needed, let the picture tell the story. And, very importantly in these strange times, it can give us a distraction, a positive focus, connect us with others, and build a community via our blogs. So why not join in, start snapping and sharing with me.
Each week I am selecting a single theme to point my camera at or display a few photos from my collection as a way to brighten up the week as we enter a new year which we all hope will be brighter than the last. If you would like to join me in #challengeyourcamera then here’s what to do:
1. Follow me to discover the weekly theme I have chosen.
2. Select a few photos related to the week’s theme
3. Post your own photos that week, any day you like.
4. Include a caption with each photo so we know what/where it is
5. Include a ping back/link to my blog in your post so that I am notified, can follow you back and can appreciate and comment on your choices.
6. Include the tag #challengeyourcamera
1. I will follow you back
2. I will encourage other posters to follow you
3. I will list each blogger in my weekly post
Theme #1 Architecture
Today is the first challenge theme, #1Architecture so give it a go, challenge your camera with different angles, lighting, time of day etc etc. Here’s my own first offerings on the architecture theme:

Hello there! We are Marlena and Kurt, it is a pleasure to meet you. We are interested in engaging and connecting with fellow bloggers! When we saw the theme “Architecture” we thought of just the post, our Granada, Nicaragua post. It it a city of churches and lined with very neat and unique architecture. We have followed you and will include our link here. Please let us know if we have done everything accurately. Thanks for the challenge!

Still struggling to follow you and support your own blog with comments. Just read your post from October about Winchester and learned something. I was taught that the most famous Saxon king there was Alfred The Great, but you say it was King Arthur! Can you show me a reference somewhere to that? I’ve never seen that claim before, only the facts about Alfred.

Not sure what is going on. My site will be under maintenance for a few days and will look into it.
Alfred the Great was indeed the Saxon King. However, my post talks about the legend of King Arthur and the round table, which is located in the Great Hall. Stunning to view

Thank you , that’s a new one on me! Quite why it’s there baffles me, I would have thought something connected to Alfred rather than some mythical king would have been more appropriate. Have you seen the Netflix series The Last Kingdom?

Hahahaha! Who doesn’t love a good legend 🙂 I started watching The Last Kingdom but the weather is so gloomy and days so short, I will wait till Spring and more daylight. Your Red Challenge has certainly lit up my day though 🙂

Hello! Is there a deadline to post for the Architecture or should I jump into the Challenge Your Camera: RED?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi, no deadlines for anything. I post a new challenge each Monday. You can do anything you like such as start with Red before Monday then join in the new one next Monday. Or do both architecture and red before Monday or ignore both and start afresh. The challenge is designed to help you learn, share, meet new people.

Hello Ali, thank you, give it a go! I used to write lots about our travels around the world but the past 12 months have been …… not so good! So my focus shifted to wine and now photography so I hope you will join in. It will be very different each week ….. I promise 😂🤞👍

Hi Dr B ..well as you can see by the name of my blog I also used to write about my travels, but that well has run dry, so a new challenge will be welcome. I’ll see if I have anything that hasn’t already been used!
