WordPress Photo Challenge: Transformation at Herculaneum, 79 AD.


Some transformations are destructive,  typified by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in August, 79 AD, when the “tsunami” of hot air and steam at around 750 degrees stripped the flesh in an instant transformation from the bodies of people who were still sheltering inside small boathouses at Herculaneum.
