A social conscience with attitude!

This is a must-read post from Eshu, a resident of Whitehaven, Cumbria, with a massive social conscience and “attitude” to go with it. He writes about the demise of Whitehaven as a town over the past 10 years caused by druggies, paedophiles, crackheads, criminals, and most of all by useless couldn’t-care-less councillors and council workers. This could happen to YOUR town unless you take a stand, write about it, blog about it, tweet about it, there are probably lots of Whitehavens across the UK managed by glory seeking tin pot councillors who have more in common with the expense seeking corrupt officials of an African state.
So, read Eshu’s post, comment on it AND follow his blog spreading it by reblogging his post. That is the LEAST you can do for someone with a social conscience!

  1. It is an angry post but it offers no real solutions. Local Government in UK needs root and branch reform but no one has the balls to do it.

I worked in Whitehaven for a while c1997. I liked it. It was once the third most important port town in England before Liverpool took over.

    • Let’s start with the anger! But solutions are often so simple such as “apply existing laws”. If you went to Whitehaven now you’d be afraid to walk down King St …………. in daylight.

  2. Thank you kindly Dr B. Your comments are really appreciated. I know there are good people out there, intensely riled by the state of their town. A little poke here and there by myself will hopefully create an atmosphere where they’ve had enough and the powers that be finally take action, for which they were elected.
