Wine IS culture and cultural! Three Germans and an Englishman meet and discuss the wines of Dauvissat, Raveneau and Fevre in a Chablis bistro. A bit like Plato’s Symposium?

What use is knowledge in our enjoyment of wine? Does it add anything if we know where the wine came from, the associated terroir, the winemaker, the grapes used? Does memory play a part, especially when we might have last had this same wine, or a different wine of the same grape and a different country?

Your favourite wine bar? Bar 66, Beaune, Burgundy, our favourite.

The beautiful BuddhaBar wine bar and lounge in Budapest, now sadly closed. The hotel was our favourite place to@stay when visiting Hungary.

A rare personal photo! Today I’m chief cook and wine pourer in the house, also a rare occasion as my wife is a much better cook!

Does anyone know this wine and the grape? Only bought one bottle from @thewinesociety1874 and now appears sold out. It’s a stunner, balance, complex, long finish, but I’ve never had a St Laurent before so have no reference point. Maybe someone can help. It’s a 2015 @ebnerebenauer
